The Trump Organization is still bullish on Charlotte, which Donald Trump views as having a lot of potential.
That comes from Donald's son, Eric, who talked to me Thursday for a story about Trump's interest in some Charlotte-area real estate.
"We would love to be in Charlotte. It's a great city," he said.
Trump said he's been approached by some area golf properties. He's also looked at "a high-rise and mid-rise opportunity and some land plays."
But, he said, the organization is not actively exploring anything specific at the moment.
Maybe one day.
"We think it’s a market we’d love to get in." Trump said.

Ughhh!
Definately time to leave.
We've heard this before, at least twice. Trump "expressed interest" in Charlotte and development. City leaders fell all over themselves trumpeting the potential and the aura of have a genuine Trump property in town. The Observer ran stories about how great it would be for the city.
Then Trump backed off, leaving Charlotte with egg on its face and city leaders wondering how they might have offended The Donald.
What a total non-story.
I'd love to see the Donald's daughter here! Hot!
Trump has talk about buying property here for years. He even had that gigantic project in uptown that was eventually cancelled when the economy tanked. We'll believe it when we see it.
what makes this so significant for a blogged article? Golf course maybe....but they wouldn't look at anything else...thats why their not going after the lots at The Pointe...real estate blows...it reminds me of the "Tommy Boy" exerpt...You can take a $#%& in a box and mark it guaranteed, but its still a guaranteed piece of %$#@. They would love to be here???? That makes me feel so much better about being a home owner..NOT!
Hey, 3:49...the whole point of something being a blog post is that it's NOT significant. Instead of whining, why don't you just ignore it instead?
Who cares? Does that make you a real city if Donald Trump builds a giant apartment and hotel with his name on it?
how about checking with that other fella from nyc that spent time in charlotte working for mccoll to promote.... walsh?
Prior to his appointment, Walsh spent five years in North Carolina as President of Charlotte Center City Partners, an organization dedicated to improving and growing Charlotte’s central business district.
thinking he is glad to be out of cow town....
